Polypropylen(PP)-Folien-Kondensatoren sind mit einem Dielektrikum aus Polypropylen - einem elektrisch isolierenden Kunststoff - ausgestattet.
Der Verlustfaktor der PP-Kondensatoren ist im Vergleich zu anderen Folien-Kondensatoren am geringsten. Aus diesem Grund erfolgt eine Verwendung der Polypropylen-Folien-Kondensatoren in frequenzbestimmenden Bereichen. Meist sind Funkentstör- oder Snubber-Kondensatoren aus Polypropylen und halten die Verlustleistung in Systemen niedrig. Da sie sowohl mit reiner als auch ölgetränkter Polypropylenfolie oder als PP/Papier-Folien-Kondensatoren eine hohe Wechselspannungsfestigkeit aufweisen, werden sie auch oft in Wechselstromanwendungen verwendet.
