SIC modules

Silicon-carbide semiconductors are very often used for high voltages or for applications in the high temperature range. Silicon carbide has a far greater band gap than pure silicon. This means more energy is required to change the semiconductor from blocking to conductive mode. Consequently, an unintentional change from blocking to conductive mode is far less likely than in a pure silicon semiconductor.
