Capacitors for conventional assembly

The radial design is a physical variant of polymer capacitors. Single-ended means that connections are positioned on one side only. Unlike SMD types, single-ended capacitors are pushed through holes in the PCB and soldered to the rear of the PCB using wire connections. As this process step takes place after SMD soldering, the thermal stress is significantly lower for the capacitor. Larger designs are possible in comparison to SMD technology thanks to the more stable, physical attachment to the conductor card.
