What Are Polymer Capacitors?

Unlike conventional aluminum electrolytic capacitors that use a liquid electrolyte, polymer capacitors use a solid, conductive polymer as the cathode material. 

The dielectric remains aluminum oxide formed on an aluminum anode. This innovative construction offers key advantages: 

  • Conductive Polymer Capacitors (Solid Polymer): Use only solid polymer. Result: ultra-low ESR, high ripple current capability, excellent temperature stability, and long service life without the risk of drying out.
