Technical Characteristics of Wireless Charging Coils
Sunlord coils are manufactured using high-quality materials, such as high-permeability ferrite cores and litz wire to minimize AC losses, and precise production processes.
Key Technical Parameters:
- Inductance (L): Measured in microhenries (μH), it determines the resonance frequency of the charging system in combination with capacitance. A typical Qi-compliant value is 12.5 μH.
- DC Resistance (DCR): Measured in milliohms (mΩ). A low DCR is critical for minimizing losses and maximizing charging efficiency. Example: max. 70 mΩ.
- Quality Factor (Q): A dimensionless value indicating the ratio of stored to lost energy per cycle. A high Q-factor means efficient energy transfer.
- Rated Current (Irms): The maximum RMS current the coil can handle continuously without overheating. Example: max. 7 A.
- Resonant Frequency (fres): The frequency at which the coil, in combination with external capacitance, achieves peak efficiency. Must be matched to the charging system.
- Dimensions & Form Factor: Available in various shapes and sizes—round, rectangular, flat—depending on the application.
