PFC Inductors

Also known as a power factor correction inductor, the PFC inductor is an important component in power supplies that helps to improve the efficiency and power quality of the system. In AC systems, current and voltage waveforms may not be perfectly aligned, resulting in a phase shift. This phase shift creates a phenomenon known as reactive power. Reactive power increases energy consumption and losses in the system. This is where PFC inductors come into play by filtering out the reactive power component from the current waveform, leaving only the active power component. This brings the power factor, which represents the ratio of active power to apparent power, closer to 1.
