Discover nowCompared to standard capacitors, double-layer capacitors, also known as supercapacitors or ultracapacitors, are characterized by an extremely high capacitance. They consist of two electrodes that are separated by an ion-conducting electrolyte. In contrast to conventional capacitors, which are based on electrostatic charge, double-layer capacitors store energy in a so-called double layer, which forms at the interface between the electrode and the electrolyte.
LS Materials has been producing ultracapacitors for more than 20 years. The South Korean company impresses with the world's lowest ESR for large cells and the smallest and lightest 125V module with the highest output worldwide.
YEC began manufacturing aluminium electrolytic capacitors in 1969. The company has been developing double-layer capacitors since 2003. The Taiwanese manufacturer's supercaps compensate for the low high-current capability of batteries, store more energy than lithium batteries in less time and are environmentally friendly. They are used in consumer electronics, AGV/AMR, lighting, photovoltaic systems and electric cars.
As the world's largest manufacturer of aluminium electrolytic capacitors, Chemi-Con has been driving development in this field since 1931. The core product portfolio is supplemented by other innovative components such as tantalum electrolytic capacitors, film capacitors, supercapacitors and many more, so that the manufacturer is characterised by a wide range of standard and special types of high quality, reliability and performance.
