A ferrite's impedance depends on frequency. If frequencies are low, then it has low impedance; if they are high, it then has high impedance. The energy from the high frequencies is transformed into heat in the ferrite. Data lines can become virtually free of high-frequency interferences.

How do I select the most suitable ferrite?

  • What frequency does the interference signal have?
  • Where does the interference come from?
  • What impedance do the source (of interference) and drain have?
  • How high must the absorption be?
  • How high is the proportion of direct current which flows through the ferrite?
  • What designs are possible?
