Discover nowThermal Management Challenges in Modern Electronics
As electronic assemblies become smaller and more powerful, engineers and technicians face increasing challenges in thermal management. Without effective heat dissipation, component temperatures rise critically, reducing lifespan and potentially causing system failure.
To ensure reliability and durability, heat must be efficiently transferred from the source (electronics) to the sink (e.g., heatsink). This is where Thermal Interface Materials (TIMs) come into play.
As your trusted partner for electronic components, alfatec offers innovative solutions from KERAFOL®, including KERAMOLD® injection molding compounds - a state-of-the-art answer to demanding thermal and electrical insulation requirements.
KERAMOLD® is a thermally conductive injection molding compound developed by KERAFOL®, based on thermoplastic elastomers (TPE). It goes beyond traditional 2D heat transfer paths of foils or pads by enabling three-dimensional thermal conduction with high electrical insulation.
Delivered as granulate, KERAMOLD® can be processed using standard injection molding techniques. A key feature is the overmolding process: electronic components or entire PCBs can be directly encapsulated with molten KERAMOLD®. This not only provides excellent cooling but also protects sensitive electronics from dust, moisture, and mechanical stress. With short cycle times, KERAMOLD® is a cost-effective and technically superior alternative to conventional potting compounds.
