What is a Si Thyristor/Diode Module?

Si thyristor/diode modules are compact power modules that combine the functionality of a thyristor, also known as a silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR), and a diode in a single housing. 

The thyristor enables controlled rectification of AC (it conducts only after a gate trigger), while the diode can act as a freewheeling diode or as part of a rectifier circuit. 

This combination reduces component count, simplifies circuit design, and saves valuable space. The SCR portion allows precise phase-angle control for power regulation.
