Current Sensors: Precise Measurement for Peak System Performance
In modern electrical systems, accurate and reliable current measurement is critical. It is essential for the monitoring, control, and protection of vital components. alfatec offers excellent, high-quality current sensors, enabling precise and efficient solutions for your most demanding applications.
Current Sensors: The Right Solution for Every Application
Our product range includes current sensors to meet the diverse requirements of modern power electronics. The choice of the right current sensor depends on the specific application, the current range to be measured, and the environmental conditions.
- Hall-Effect Current Sensors (DC and AC):These sensors measure the magnetic field that an electric current generates and convert it into a proportional voltage. They provide galvanic isolation between the measuring circuit and the circuit being measured, which increases system safety. Hall-effect sensors are versatile because they can measure both direct (DC) and alternating (AC) currents and have high linearity.
We offer innovative Hall-effect current sensors from the leading manufacturer s4Sensors, which are known for their high quality and proprietary technology.
S4-CSA02 Hall Sensor: Precise Current Measurement Redefined
The S4-CSA02 from s4Sensors is a state-of-the-art Hall-effect current sensor based on a unique vertical Hall-effect sensor technology. It's available in a compact SOIC-8 package and can be mounted directly on a primary busbar or a conductor on the printed circuit board (PCB).
Technical Features and Specifications of the S4-CSA02
This IC integrates a fast analog signal path with factory-calibrated gain and offset temperature drift compensation. Various parameters such as sensitivity, zero-point output voltage, temperature drift, and signal bandwidth, as well as operating modes, can be programmed in the application.
- Sensor Technology: Proprietary vertical backside Hall-effect sensor technology for detecting lateral magnetic fields.
- Operating Modes: Additive and differential operating modes for improved stray field suppression. The IC has two Hall-effect sensor areas that are approximately 1.6 mm apart. In additive mode, the sensor signals are added; in differential mode, they are subtracted, which improves stray field suppression.
- Programmability: User-programmable bandwidth from 16 kHz to 250 kHz and a step response time of only 3 µs. Multi-point programmable sensitivity and offset temperature compensation. Very large sensitivity programming range.
- Output Modes: Ratiometric or fixed output voltage range.
- Monitoring Functions: Undervoltage and overvoltage detection for the supply.
- Supply Voltage: 4.5 V - 5.5 V
- Operating Temperature: A wide range from −40°C to +150°C for demanding environments.
- Qualification: AEC-Q100 Grade 0 automotive qualified, which guarantees the highest reliability in vehicle applications.

Our Partner in the Field of Current Sensors
s4sensors
s4sensors specializes in advanced Hall-effect sensor technologies. Their Backside-Hall technology is a significant advantage, as it allows the sensitive Hall elements to be placed on the side of the chip facing away from the magnetic field. This often leads to improved signal quality and robustness against external influences. S4sensors stands for innovation and quality in the field of magnetic sensors.
